The Bausch Lomb name is a well known and respected healthcare brand. In fact, the company celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2003. Headquartered in Rochester, N.Y., Bausch Lomb's 2003 revenues were $2 billion. Bausch Lomb employs approximately 11,500 people worldwide, and its products are available in more than 100 countries.

Bausch Lomb has three product lines: vision care, surgical, and pharmaceuticals. In its vision care line, Bausch Lomb makes a variety of quality soft contact lenses, including:

  • one-day disposable lenses. SofLens(r) one-day disposable lenses
    require no cleaning, no storing, and no mess. Wear them for one day, then toss them. With SoftLens(r), each day starts with a fresh, clean pair.
  • Two-week replacement lenses. Brands available include SofLens66(r) Toric contact lenses, SofLens(r)59 contact lenses, SofLens(r) Multi-Focal contact lenses, SofLens66 contact lenses, and SofLens(r)38 contact lenses. Two-week replacement lenses are soft contact lenses that are worn on a daily basis and replaced every two weeks as recommended by your eyecare practitioner. The lenses offer easy handling, cleaning, and disinfection.
  • Planned replacement lenses. The brand available is SofLens(r)38 contact lenses, which was formerly marketed as Optima(r) FW contact lenses. Planned replacement lenses are worn on a daily basis and replaced every two weeks or one, two, or three months, according to your prescription. These lenses offer easy cleaning and disinfection.
  • Traditional daily wear lenses. Brands available include Optima 38/SP contact lenses, Optima Toric, SilSoft(r), SilSoft(r), and Super Plus. Traditional daily wear lenses are worn on a daily basis and replaced every six to 12 months.

Bausch Lomb also makes GP (gas permeable) contact lenses. Brands include Boston(r) GP and Boston MultiVision(tm) contact lenses. GP lenses are custom-made to fit the natural shape of the user's eyes.
