Contact Lens Cases

Contact Lens Cases, the new designer accessory has become a fashion item

When contact lenses first came to prominence, in the early 1980s, contact lens cases themselves were not given much prominence - after all, the whole point of having contacts was so no one knew you were wearing glasses, so why would you advertise the fact by showing of your case!

Consequently, the original contact lens case was a rather dull, made of plastic (usually opaque), and designed in such a way that you could just put them in your bathroom cabinet and forget about them.

Today all that has changed. The contact lens is fashionable - as can be seen with the popularity of colored lenses -and with the rise in the trendiness of the lens has been a parallel rise in the acceptance, as a fashion item, of all that goes with the lens - including the contact lens case itself. Consequently, these days it is possible to purchase lens cases with all sorts of fashionable designs on them - from pictures of animals to your own picture (if done by a custom designer). As well as this, you can even now purchase travel contact lens cases which come in varying sizes, from those that resemble make-up bags (with space for several bottles of solution) to the miniature-size ones that can easily get packed down the side of your bag.

But, all of this does have a serious side. Eye care specialists now acknowledge that wearers of lens should change their lens cases every three months or so, so as to avoid any build up of fungal and/or bacterial contamination. So, to avoid any eye related health care risk here, you should note that contact lens cases are now very trendy and very affordable!
