How to tell if you may have Vision Problems, you can use
this 10 point checklist to assess yourself
The thought of losing one's vision, along with the ability to
hear, is one of life's scariest thoughts. In today's society, however,
vision problems are more endemic - resulting from the increased
level of stress that we put on our eyes. This increased stress may
be from watching more television than our ancestors did; or from
working on computers; or from generally reading the huge amount
of print options now available.
Knowing when you may have an oncoming vision problem, and trying
to lessen the causal effects of such, is essential. To help you
with this, we set out a quick set of 10 questions that will guide
you to know if you need to see an eye-specialist:
- Do you get headaches when you read for prolonged periods?
- Does your vision sometimes become blurred when you read?
- When you read material on your computer, do you sometimes suffer
the effects of double vision?
- When looking at an object in the distance, is it sometime hard
to refocus on near objects?
- When watching television, do you sometimes feel like the colors
are blurring?
- When reading, do you feel the need to re-read what you just
read because you didn't get it?
- When reading, watching television, or working on the computer,
do your eyes have a tendency to itch?
- Is it more difficult to concentrate when reading materials than
used to be the case?
- Do your eyes hurt when exposed to sunlight?
- When reading a newspaper, do you feel the need from time-to-time
to look up/look away and then go back to the place you were reading?
If you have answered "yes" to any of these questions,
it may be time for you to have an eye-check. Please don't worry
too much though, there are a number of reasons why this may happen,
it's just better to be safe than sorry.
