Wearing Contact Lenses made easier than ever since the
day Da Vinci invented them in 1508
If you are currently wearing eyeglasses but are thinking of
a move over to wearing contact lenses, then now is the time to do
it. Because, in this day and age, wearing contact lenses couldn't
be made any easier.
The first thing to note, if you want to wear contacts, is that
you require a prescription filled out. This prescription will let
you know what type and prescription lens you require. Today's contact
lens wearer has a vast multitude of prescription lenses to chose
from. In their basic form, lens come as disposable and frequent
replacement "soft" contacts, which are made from oxygen
permeable matter which allow greater levels of oxygen to penetrate
through to the eye. This makes it easier for the eye to breath and,
consequently, more comfortable to wear. However, if you feel more
comfortable wearing "hard" - RGP - lenses, which may lead
to some initial discomfort, then you may be able to have a set of
lenses that last for anything up to 4 years; provided they are cleaned
regularly.
Traditional soft and hard lenses available include bifocal lenses,
multifocal lenses and Toric lenses. In addition, recent developments
in contact lens technology means that it is now possible to purchase
Night & Day lenses, which allow persons to wear their contacts
both during the day and at night, for up to 30-days use.
However, these days contact lens wear is not restricted only to
those who require prescription contacts. It is now possible to also
purchase non-prescription lenses. Ordinarily non-prescription lenses
are worn in order to provide the wearer with alternative eye colors
to their natural color. As a result, this type of lens is commonly
called "cosmetic" lens.
Finally, catching up with development trends in contact lens technology
has been technology allowing wearers the opportunity to purchase
contacts. These days it is as easy to purchase contact from your
eye-care specialist, online from the Internet, or from mail order
contact lens service providers.
All of these mean that wearing contact lenses is easier today than
it has ever been since the day Leonardo de Vinci first drew the
contact way back in 1508!
