Optima FW lenses have the popular spherical vision design

Optima FW contact lenses are popular soft lenses that provide spherical vision and are manufactured using the patented Reverse Process III technology. This is a cast molding technology that results in the ultra thinness of the lenses. They are made of 62 percent polymacon and 38 percent water which add to the comfort of the lenses.

The soft lenses are packaged in phosphate buffered saline solution and usually come six lenses to a vial. The front side of the lenses is marked with "B&L" so the user inserts them with the right side out. This is called an inversion indicator. Each lenses is tinted a light green to make it easier for the user to find the lenses in the solution.

It is important for the user to follow the directions of the eye care provider regarding maintenance and replacement of these polymacon based contact lenses. The lenses need replacement on a weekly, biweekly or longer basis, depending on the directions of the eye care provider. The lenses require cleaning as do all contact lenses and there are a variety of cleaning solutions available for the user to select from. Since the lenses are made of a deposit resistant material, the accumulation of protein deposits on the lenses is not a big concern. Still, the lenses must be cleaned on a regular basis until they are disposed of.

The lenses are available in a variety of prescriptive powers for both myopia and hyperopia. They are ideal for first-time contact lenses wearers.

Optima FW contact lenses are manufactured by Bausch and Lomb of Rochester, New York. The Optima FW is also sold under the brand name Softlens38. These are identical lenses from the same manufacturer. They are readily available at most land-based and online optical outlets. There is a wide range of price and quantity options so wise shoppers will comparison shop for a reliable supplier with a good price for the quantity he/she wishes to purchase.
